We are looking for a service-oriented archivist to a dynamic workplace with varied tasks.

The City Archive is a central resource in the city’s information supply and one of the prerequisites for the principle of public access to work. We constantly develop our working methods to increase the accessibility and value of our services, so that they meet the needs of modern people. We are part of creating the transparent city – where information about the past and present becomes building blocks for tomorrow.

In the unit for Making Archive Information Accessible, we are around 25 employees. Our mission is to provide good service to visitors and users of the City Archive's services. A prerequisite for us to effectively provide documents is that the archives are clearly organized and listed. In our work, we meet many people with different expectations, which places demands on good service and responsiveness.

Hello, my name is Maria Sadeghzadeh and I am the unit manager. I care about an open work climate where we learn and develop from each other. My leadership style is characterized by a positive and inclusive attitude, where I strive to create a good atmosphere and a sense of community within the team.

Your role

In the role of archivist, your main tasks will include:

  • working in our reading rooms and advising visitors or users
  • providing information from the archives to private or professional users
  • working practically with our archives by organizing, listing, and registering archive materials
  • mentoring others, such as interns and youth employees
  • participating in other work within the unit.

Your job is varied and the tasks change over time.

Your skills and experience

We are looking for someone who has:

  • an education with at least 60 higher education credits in archival science
  • current experience working with service
  • worked independently and driven your own tasks forward
  • good digital skills and ease in working with new digital programs
  • experience working with the Office suite and Outlook
  • good ability to express yourself verbally and in writing in Swedish.

It is an advantage if you have:

  • worked practically with archives
  • worked in public administration
  • worked in Platina (called eDok in the city) or in another document and case management system
  • built or used AI assistants
  • worked with record-keeping, Sharepoint, or e-archives.

To thrive in the role, you need to be service-oriented and professional. You are pedagogical and adapt your communication. To succeed in the role, you need to have a holistic view and consider the best interests of the entire organization. You are flexible and adjust your focus when circumstances change.
